The abstracts can be one-page long (400-500 words), and it must be structured. The element of the structured abstracts; background, purpose, research design, setting, study sample, intervention, control and comparison condition, data collection and analysis, findings, conclusions, and citations. Please note that some elements are optional in structured abstracts. For more information about structured abstracts, you should visit www.eric.ed.gov web site.

Instructions for Authors

( Sample Paper )

Please read through the following guidelines before submitting your paper.

 

TITLE

Title should be in 12-point, all in capital letters, and centered.

For the papers written in Turkish, the Turkish title should be followed by the English title, allowing two single line spacing in between the titles.

AUTHOR(S) NAME

 The names of the author(s) should be written in 10-point type, first letter capitalized, and centered. The name of the institution, country and e-mail addresses should also be indicated. Single space should be used between the title and authors, and between author(s) name and author(s) institution, country and e-mail address.

GENERAL FORMAT OF THE CONFERENCE PAPER

  • Paper should be written in two columns with 8 cm width. The space between the two columns should be 0.7 cm.
  • Paper should be in A4 format. Left margin should be 3 cm, right margin should be 2cm; at the top 4 cm and at the bottom 2.7 cm.
  • Font size throughout the paper should be 10- point in Times New Roman, in single space, and justified.
  • 6 pt space with single spacing should be allowed between the paragraphs.
  • Do not indent the paragraphs.
  • The paper should be maximum 6 pages long
  • Do not give page numbers for the paper
  • Do not include page headers and footers
  • Papers should be saved as a Word file.
  • Papers should be saved using the second name of the first author and sent as an attachment to the following e-mail address: ietc2007@neu.edu.tr

 

 

ABSTRACT

  • Three single line spacing should be allowed between the author affiliations and the Abstract title
  • Abstract title should be in 8-point., bold and centered.
  • Space to be allowed before the summary should be 6pt.
  • The abstract length can be between 100-150 words.
  • For the papers written in Turkish, the Turkish abstract should be followed by the English abstract, allowing single line spacing in between the abstracts.
  • Key Words:
    -Single space should be allowed between the abstract and the key words.
    -Should be 8-point, bold and flush left
    -Please select 3 to 5 keywords

MAIN HEADINGS

  • Should be in 10-point, bold and centered
  • 6pt space should be allowed between the main heading and the first line

SUBHEADINGS

  • Should be 10-point, italic and alignment left
  • 6pt space should be allowed between the subheading and the first line.

 

 

PICTURES, TABLES AND GRAPHS

  • Should be 8-point type size
  • The captions should be in 8-point font and centered
  • Picture and graphic captions should be typed below the pictures and graphs, and above the tables.
  • Single space should be allowed between the text and the picture, and between the tables and the graphs
  • Picture, table and graphs should be placed within the text.

 

REFERENCES

Should be written in APA format
6 pt space with single spacing should be allowed between the references.
Reference citations in text should follow APA standards.

 

Citations

Citations should strictly follow American Psychological Association ( APA ) style. Examples of references cited within the text are as follows: (Williams, Allen, & Jones, 1978) or (Moore, 1990; Smith, 1991) or Terrell (1977).  In citations, "et al." can only be used after all authors have been cited or referenced with the exception of six or more authors. All citations must match the reference list and vice versa. Over use of references is discouraged. 

References

Authors are responsible for checking the accuracy of all references and that all references cited in the text also appear in the Reference section. All references should be in alphabetical order (unnumbered) following American Psychological Association ( APA ), 5th edition, style.
